Unfortunately due to a number of unforeseen reasons which were outside our control, the club has decided reluctantly to cancel this years event. Thank you for everyone’s support, we will be back next year to turn the beach a kaleidoscope of colour!
2022 Event Information
Whitby District Lions is proud to announce that ‘Whitby Rainbow Colour Run’ is back for 2022! This year’s run, which is the event’s fourth edition is being held on Sunday 17th July 2022 at 1PM, it promises to be a fun, exciting and colourful event for all the family! Our non-competitive event along Whitby’s West Cliff beach will see participants of all ages run or walk the course, whilst facing an exciting, colourful shower of powdered paint. Help us turn the beach into a glowing rainbow of fun and laughter with both family members and friends.
On the day there will be 2 courses available to complete, either a 5k course for adults (from the West Pier along the beach to the Dunsley ravine and back) or a 3k course for those who are accompanied by children under 16 years (from the West Pier along the beach to the end of the sea wall and back). We look forward to seeing you there, where everyone will get drench in colour, have some fun, get fit, test yourself, feel awesome and celebrate your achievement!
The event is to be held in support of local charities and good causes, all of which Whitby District Lions continue to support throughout the year.
Tickets?
Tickets can be purchased BELOW. Please follow these instructions. Please select your chosen ticket by clicking the “Add to Cart” button, if you are purchasing multiple tickets please click on the button again or multiple times. Then please scroll to the top of this page, you will notice in the top right hand side corner of this page a basket symbol highlighting the number of tickets you have selected. Click on this basket button, then a side pop-up menu appears on the righthand side of the screen. You can either view your cart or go straight to checkout (if you view your cart, click on the “Proceed to Checkout” button). On the Checkout page, please entre all of the required fields. Then please either click on “PayPal” button (to pay by PayPal) or the “Debit or Credit Card” button.
Adults & Over 12’s: £15
Children (Under 12’s): £10
Family (For 2 Adults & 2 Children): £30
(After purchasing a ticket YOU MUST submit the BELOW form to select your T-Shirt size). Please note that to purchase a ticket you must go through the above Checkout process. If you just submit the T-Shirt size form you will not have purchased a ticket.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult in order to participate in the event and they must supervised by said adult at all times.
Any schools or youth groups who take part must have adequate supervision.
Alternatively, tickets are also available from the Whitby Pet Shop, 15 Station Square, Whitby, YO21 1DU.
Tickets can also be purchased on the day at our registration tent which opens at 12 Noon either by cash or debit/credit card.
What is included?
Each ticket includes a FREE:
A white T-Shirt – So you can get splattered in as much colour as you like!
A colourful pair of sunglasses – So you can look cool!

Ticket Information & Registration
Tickets are purchased via PayPal using a credit or debit card.
You will receive an email from Woo-Commerce with a unique transaction ID. Please keep this email safe, please bring your printed email to the registration tent so we can confirm your attendance.
When purchasing a ticket online YOU MUST submit the above form to select your T-Shirt size. If you are purchasing a Family Ticket, you will need to submit a form for each participant in order to select their individual T-Shirt size.

Our registration tent will be located on Whitby’s West Cliff Beach near the pier just down from the slipway. EVERYONE who has purchased a ticket will need to register on the day in order to collect their t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses. Please see the Google map below.
T-Shirt Sizes
The following T-Shirt sizes are available to select:
7/8 Years (30″) – Children
12/13 Years (34″) – Children
Small (38″/40″) – Children/Adult
Medium (38″/40″) – Adult
Large (41″/43″) – Adult
X Large (44″/46″) – Adult
Please note that on the day your particular size of t-shirt might not be available, we will endeavour to find you the most suitable sized t-shirt.

Other Information
All the powdered paint used is non-toxic and made from corn starch in accordance with relevant health and safety manufacturing regulations.
Please read the events terms and conditions in regards to personal property and guests.
Water will be provided after you have finished the event. After the event, due to the nature of powdered paint, if you are traveling home in a car please either change into another set of clothing or cover the vehicle’s seat as the powdered paint can dye fabric/leather car seats.
No toilets are provided at this event. The nearest public toilets are located on Pier Road near the Whitby Bandstand which is short walk from the beach. Please note you will have pay in order to use these public toilets.
The nearest car parking available is either on West Cliff where there are two public car parks and on-street pay and display parking, or the Marina/Endeavour Wharf car parks which are located on Longborne Road opposite the Whitby Coop supermarket, which is about a five to ten minute walk away from the event. Fundraising
100% of the money we raise through ticket sales, will be donated to Whitby District Lion’s Club to support our work in the local community. Our previous run held in 2019 (due to the covid pandemic) was very successful with over 200 people conquering the fun run whilst raising money for fantastic local Whitby charities.
Each year Whitby Lion’s raise thousands of pounds for local Whitby charities and good causes. The club is approached throughout the year from a verity of charities such as; WISH Foundation, Friends of Pannett Park, Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary, Whitby District Scouts and Guides, Whitby RNLI and St Catherine’s Hospice.
100% of all the money raised through the fun run and other events is donated directly to such charities, meaning our club resources are a vital funding pot that can be easily accessed. The club’s running costs are covered by our members who pay a membership fee each year.
Covid-19
If you are planning on attending the colour run and have subsequently tested positive for Covid-19, if you have any symptoms or you have been told to isolate or you are currently isolating, unfortunately, you will be unable able to attend this years colour run for the safety of others. Tickets are none-refundable, if unfortunately you cannot attend the event due to covid-19.
