Whitby Lion’s Donate £500 to LCIF Covid-19 India Appeal

The club has decided to donate £500.00 to the LCIF (Lion Clubs International Foundation) India Covid-19 Appeal. As we are all aware in the recent sad news coming from India, daily case numbers and deaths began rising in March and then surged dramatically. On Thursday, 6 May 2021, the number of new recorded daily infections reached a new high of more than 414,000. This has lead to a heart breaking images of hospitals been overwhelmed with families trying to source their own oxygen supply as hospitals run out of their own supplies.

As our world unites to address the COVID-19 pandemic, Lions Clubs International Foundation is responding to the immense challenges facing humankind. Through millions raised in grant funding, LCIF has supported Lions relief efforts globally. LCIF continues its commitment to restoring wellbeing to our communities. The money that we have donated to LCIF will be distributed to Lions clubs who work on the ground in India with their local community, who will know the best way to support their own community.  Did you know that there are 1.4 million caring men and women lion members globally serving together so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.
