Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult in order to participate in the event and they must supervised by said adult at all times.

Any schools or youth groups who take part must have adequate supervision.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day at our registration tent which opens at 11:00 until 12 Noon either by cash or debit/credit card.

What is included?

Each ticket includes:

• A white T-Shirt – So you can get splattered in as much colour as you like!
• A colourful pair of Whitby Seafoods branded sunglasses – So you look cool!
• One packet of powdered colour paint – For the warm up! 

The Event Route

The colour run event route is roughly 1 KM in length one way and starts from the West Pier along the West Cliff beach to roughly where beach huts finish on the sea wall and back again, giving a total distance of roughly 2 KM.

Please remember it is a none-competitive run with the distance being suitable for children of all ages.   

Registration & Collection on Event Day

On the event day, all ticket holders need to register at our registration tent in order to collect your t-shirt, sunglasses and a packet of powdered paint, that is included within the ticket price. Please bring your ticket either via the Eventbrite app or printed ticket in order for us scan your ticket.

Our registration tent will be located on West Cliff Beach just down from the slipway on Pier Road, near the Whitby Bandstand, YO21 3PY. Please see the map below.

Whitby District Lion’s Club would like to say a massive thank you to Whitby Seafoods for supporting this year’s Whitby Rainbow Colour Run, we are excited to be working with a brilliant local business who support so many local charities and are a great brand for Whitby around the UK. Whitby Seafoods will bring their colourful beach themed brand to this year’s colour run, which will feature their cute Scampi Van, which will be serving delicious samples of their award winning scampi, a perfect snack after finishing the run. They will also be bringing some pre-run fun to the beach with their large branded deck chair and flags, for some fantastic photo opportunities.

Whitby is now firmly established as the beacon brand for scampi and has become the number one scampi brand for caterers since starting business. Whitby Scampi has become a famous dish in pubs and restaurants throughout the land, gracing the very best menus as a signifier of discernment.

So what is Scampi we hear you ask? Well, Scampi or langoustines, if you want to give them their frilly name – are actually small lobsters. The scientific name is Nephrops Norvegicus, but you can sling your hook if you think we’re printing that on every packet! We responsibly source them from the chilly waters around the British Isles and carefully prepare them with our tasty golden crumb here in Whitby, North Yorkshire.

Other Information

All the powdered paint used is non-toxic and made from corn starch in accordance with relevant health and safety manufacturing regulations.

Water will be provided after you have finished the event. After the event, due to the nature of powdered paint, if you are traveling home in a car please either  change into another set of clothing or cover the vehicle’s seat as the powdered paint can dye fabric/leather car seats. 

No toilets are provided at this event. The nearest public toilets are located on Pier Road near the Whitby Bandstand which is short walk from the beach. Please note you will have pay in order to use these public toilets. 

The nearest car parking available is either on West Cliff where there are two public car parks and on-street pay and display parking, or the Marina/Endeavour Wharf car parks which are located on Longborne Road opposite the Whitby Coop supermarket, which is about a five to ten minute walk away from the event. Fundraising

100% of the money we raise through ticket sales, will be donated to Whitby District Lion’s Club to support our work in the local community. Our previous run held in 2022 was very successful with over 200 people conquering the fun run whilst raising money for fantastic local Whitby charities.

Each year Whitby Lion’s raise thousands of pounds for local Whitby charities and good causes. The club is approached throughout the year from a verity of charities such as; WISH Foundation, Friends of Pannett Park, Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary, Whitby District Scouts and Guides, Whitby RNLI and St Catherine’s Hospice.

100% of all the money raised through the fun run and other events is donated directly to such charities, meaning our club resources are a vital funding pot that can be easily accessed. The club’s running costs are covered by our members who pay a membership fee each year.

Covid-19

If you are planning on attending the colour run and have subsequently tested positive for Covid-19, if you have any symptoms or you have been told to isolate or you are currently isolating, unfortunately, you will be unable able to attend this years colour run for the safety of others.
